No Mud, No Lotus

The lotus flower is used in many cultures as a metaphor for rising above the difficulties and struggles humans face. This flower is always rooted in the mud, and needs that muddy, fertile ground to propel itself up out of the water and into the light to reach its full beauty.

The lotus flower reminds us that we can use our own "muddy struggles" as fertile ground to propel ourselves up into the light. We too have the potential to rise above, open and transform ourselves into the beautiful, flourishing beings we are meant to be.
